Kiel – Today (February 28th), Tim Walter made his return to the sidelines at Holstein Kiel – and was immediately able to celebrate a partial success. In the 2. Bundesliga, the Storks and SV Elversberg drew 1:1 (0:0).
A Courageous Performance
KSV started courageously and immediately showed that they were taking on the favored Elversberg. SVE goalkeeper Kristof was challenged early by Tohumcu (3rd minute). The first half developed with few highlights, but picked up speed shortly before halftime. Kelati (35th minute) narrowly missed the goal and failed six minutes later from distance with a strong save by Kristof (41st minute). The teams went into the break scoreless.
Therkelsen Responds to Mokwa
After the break, Kiel also made a decent impression and had their first good chance through Harres (50th minute), but narrowly missed the goal. The guests were more clinical ten minutes later: Günther received the ball on the left side and brought in a sharp cross. The arriving David Mokwa (61st minute) gratefully slotted the ball in to take the lead for the Saarlanders. However, the joy was short-lived. Just two minutes later, a Kiel clearance landed at the feet of Jonas Therkelsen (63rd minute), who drew through the legs of the opposing goalkeeper to equalize. Not much happened after that. Positively, from Kiel’s point of view: Alexander Bernhardsson celebrated his comeback almost 20 minutes before the end of the game and was on the pitch for the first time since the end of November.
