Stability Expected in Ukrainian Rates – ValutaFX.com”>Currency Market in Early 2025

As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, Ukrainian residents can expect a stable start to 2025 in the country’s currency market, according to local experts. The national currency is forecast to remain within expected norms, and significant fluctuations are unlikely.

Taras Levosoy, Head of Treasury at "Globus Bank," told UNIAN that the first week of January is not expected to see excessive turmoil. He believes that currency policy will play a crucial role in controlling inflation.

"Based on our estimates, the official exchange rate between December 30 and January 5 will fluctuate between 41.8 and 42.1 UAH/USD, essentially ruling out any dramatic changes," Levosoy said.

The banker predicted that the USD/UAH exchange rate on the interbank market will remain within the 41.8 – 42.1 UAH/USD range, while the exchange rate on the cash market will be 41.9 – 42.2 UAH/USD. Therefore, in early January 2025, 100 USD will cost approximately 4190 – 4220 UAH, and 1000 USD will be around 41900 – 42200 UAH.

Sergey Mamedev, Vice-President of the Ukrainian Banking Association and Chairman of the Board at "Globus Bank," noted that the maximum monthly devaluation of the Ukrainian Hryvnia in the first few months of 2025 is not expected to exceed 2-2.5%. By the end of March, the USD/UAH exchange rate is predicted to remain within the 42 – 42.8 UAH/USD corridor, making 100 USD approximately 4200 – 4280 UAH.
