Getting started with Apple Music inside ChatGPT
AI apps are rapidly evolving, and ChatGPT’s new app support is a prime example. This feature allows access to tools like Adobe Photoshop and Google Calendar directly within ChatGPT, enabling users to edit images, schedule events, and more using AI prompts. One standout app is Apple Music. By providing your Apple Music login, you can leverage ChatGPT’s AI to discover new music and build playlists based on specific criteria.
Accessing ChatGPT’s apps is easiest on the web. Open the left-hand navigation pane and select Apps. You’ll find available apps, including Apple Music. Clicking on an app reveals details and screenshots of its features.

To connect Apple Music, find it under the Featured or Lifestyle tabs, or use the search box. Click Connect, then Continue to log in. You can also choose Continue without account to explore features without saving playlists.
You can manage installed apps (and remove them) in Settings and Apps. To use an app in a chat, @mention it or select it from the + menu.
What you can do with Apple Music inside ChatGPT

Start by asking for music recommendations. You’ll benefit from both ChatGPT’s AI and Apple Music’s algorithms, and can save tracks to your account.
Explore music in various ways. Request deep cuts from a band or popular singles. Include genre and release date information, and share your preferences for tailored recommendations. Currently, accessing your Apple Music library or listening history isn’t possible.
Create playlists with prompts like “a 20-song playlist for an upbeat road trip” or “a 40-song playlist for reflective meditation.” Experiment with different prompts to refine your playlists.
Add individual tracks to your Apple Music library using the + icons. Click Create Playlist in Apple Music to transfer entire playlists, though longer playlists may be split into groups.
