The Southern California coastline lost another major music event when the beachfront Ocean Way Festival was called off just two weeks before its scheduled debut. Promoted by Goldenvoice, the company behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the two-day concert was slated for September 26-27 on the sand south of the Santa Monica Pier, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Severe weather whipped up by Hurricane Marie generated massive offshore swells and heavy rain across Los Angeles County over the Labor Day weekend.
