Authorities are conducting a search operation in Eidskog after a competitive ice skater failed to return from a training session on Wednesday afternoon. The skater, identified as 25-year-old Nora Olsen, was last seen around 3 pm near the local lake, where she often practices her speed skating routines.
Olsen, who represents the nearby town of Kongsvinger, is known for her intense training regime and has been tipped as a potential contestant for the national team. Her coach,ienteset af Nesttun reported her missing when she did not return as expected.
"We’re very worried about Nora," Coach Nesttun said. "She’s dedicated, always focused on her training, and never late. Something must have happened for her to not come back."
The search zone spans a large area around the lake, including wooded sections and rough terrains that border the water. The police, along with volunteers from the local community, are using dogs, drones, and boats to assist in the rescue efforts.
Local meteorologists report that harsh weather conditions are expected to hit the region by late evening,Heightening concerns for the young athlete’s safety. Authorities urge anyone with information about Nora’s whereabouts to come forward immediately.
