Police Arrest Two Suspected Burglars After dramatic High-Speed Chase

Two suspected burglars were arrested on Saturday night in ‘s-Hertogenbosch after a dramatic high-speed chase that ended in a violent crash. The police had received a tip-off that a burglary was about to take place at a Makro store in the city.

As officers arrived at the scene, they spotted a white van speeding away from the premises. They immediately initiated a pursuit. The suspects managed to evade the police for about four kilometers before they crashed into three so-called "pig’s backs" – large, ovoid-shaped concrete blocks positioned alongside the road. The van came to a sudden halt after colliding with a tree.

One of the suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot and even attempted to hide in a nearby body of water to avoid arrest. However, he was eventually tracked down and apprehended by police after a brief chase. The other suspect was found to be injured after the crash and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary.

The van used by the suspects was found to have false license plates, which were from a completely different model of car. Inside the vehicle, police discovered various burglary tools, including a sledgehammer, an electric screwdriver, and an angle grinder.

The dramatic pursuit and crash resulted in significant damage to the vehicle, with both front and rear wheels and the rear axle being severed from the impact. The ‘pig’s backs’ also suffered significant damage from the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, and both suspects remain in custody for their alleged involvement in the attempted burglary and the high-speed chase that followed. No further details have been released at this time.
