According to a statement by the Israeli military, the rocket was detected and intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome system near the Red Sea resort city of Eilat. This marks the first rocket attack on Israel from Yemen since 2019. In Syria, the US military has announced it has killed two senior Islamic State (IS) members in a precision airstrike, marking the first publicly announced US military action against IS in Syria since President Biden took office. The strike was conducted near Idlib in northwest Syria.
