Norwegian Police Issue Simplified Fine for Illegal Overtaking Between Festøy and Volda
The Norwegian police have issued a simplified fine, known as a ‘forenklet forelegg’, to an Italian rally car instructor caught illegally overtaking on the E39 road between Festøy and Volda. The incident occurred on Thursday, January 2, and was reported to the local police in Volda.
According to operations leader Tor André Gram Franck, who spoke to VG, the instructor was not driving a Ferrari, as one might expect, but rather a Volvo. The police patrol in Volda center confirmed this when they stopped the vehicle after receiving multiple reports of illegal overtaking on the road.
"The patrol that stopped the car also observed the described driving," Franck said. The driver was given a simplified fine for prohibited overtaking.
The police have stated that the driver was on vacation in Norway at the time of the incident.
