Jokkmokk municipal chief Lars Eriksson must leave job after porn films

Lars Eriksson, the municipal chief of Jokkmokk in northern Sweden, produced and appeared in several porn films under the pseudonym “Hans” and must now leave his job.

Two of the films were released in 2025 and 2026, while he held the position, and in the newest one he appears on camera himself. The revelation was made by SVT Nyheter Norrbotten on Wednesday and is also covered by Expressen and Sveriges Radio.

Two films released while he held office

Shortly after the revelation, the municipality’s political leadership decided that Eriksson must leave the position. He receives severance pay equivalent to six months’ salary.

Municipal councilor Roland Boman said the reason is security considerations following the media disclosure.

“It is very important that a leading official cannot be exposed to blackmail,” Boman told SVT.

Blackmail concern in a municipality of strategic interest

Olle Lundin, professor of administrative law at Uppsala University, said Eriksson’s past can constitute a security risk. He pointed in particular to Jokkmokk’s strategic importance, including because of hydropower and the Swedish Armed Forces’ activities.

“The municipality is of great interest to foreign powers, and then I mean primarily Russia,” Lundin told SVT.

In his view, a possible vulnerability to blackmail is especially problematic in a municipality with major security-policy significance.

Eriksson says his last industry contact was in 2022

Eriksson, who previously represented the Social Democrats in the Swedish Riksdag, denies having been active in the porn industry while municipal chief. He said his last contact with the industry was in 2022, before he took the municipal position, and claims he had no influence over when the films were released.

According to Expressen, he also denies having posted content or given interviews on social media that marketed the newest films. He maintains that the activity was legal, did not affect his work, and that he poses no security risk — arguing that any basis for blackmail has been removed by his answering questions about his past.

Removed in October, reinstated a week later

The municipal chief’s problems began before the disclosure. On October 19, Eriksson was relieved of his duties. According to Sveriges Radio, he was originally to remain relieved of his work until his contract expired in February 2028, and the municipality would not say why the decision was made.

A week later, the politicians reversed course. Eriksson kept the position but was stripped of responsibility for staff, economy and budget. The decision also created political disagreement: the Moderates’ Asbjörn Thunborg reacted to the fact that no reason was given for ending the leadership assignment. At that point, the municipality did not know about the porn films. After Wednesday’s revelation, it was decided that Eriksson must leave — with six months’ severance pay.
