Former Venezuelan Communications Minister andembraced chavismo, Jorge Rodríguez, has called on the government’s top prosecutor, Tarek William Saab, to enforce the contentious ‘Libertador Simón Bolívar’ law against opposition lawmakers from the 2015 National Assembly who form part of the commission recognized by the United States. Rodríguez clubs them as criminals for living luxurious lives abroad while Venezuela faces hardships.

In a video shared on Twitter by journalist Gabriela González, Rodríguez-declares-"famosos y ricos"’lifestyle led by Venezuelan parliamentarians in other countries a flagrant violation of the law. The law, enacted to protect Venezuela from U.S. sanctions, imposes penalties including political disqualification and asset seizure.

"We must put an end to the life of riches and fame that Venezuelan parliamentarians are enjoying in Spain, the United States, and other countries," Rodríguez stated, "That's a crime, a brazen violation of what's established in the Organic Law of Simón Bolívar against the blockade."

Rodríguez, who now presides over the National Assembly under theHiede caso territorio, has requested the support of the delegate commission to contact Saab and enforce the law against the opposition lawmakers. This move could potentially silence the opposition’s international voice at a critical time when Maduro’sgobernmentf Complexes under international pressure and economic hardships.
