The Kennesaw State men’s golf team is set to compete in the Johnnie-O at Sea Island tournament on March 9-10. The tournament will be held at the Sea Island Plantation Course, a par 72 course spanning 7,016 yards, and is hosted by Rutgers.
Tournament Details
The two-day event will consist of 36 holes played on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Kennesaw State will be among 15 teams competing, including No. 23 Notre Dame, No. 44 West Virginia, and No. 45 Cincinnati.
The Owls are looking to improve upon their sixth-place finish at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico last month. The Kennesaw State lineup includes Shaun Cook, Hunter Gillard, Kyle Bachkosky, Reed Sweigart, and Walker Gantt, with Ryne Nicholson competing as an individual.
Looking Ahead
Kennesaw State returns seven players from last season’s squad, which was ranked No. 67 in the final NCAA Scoreboard poll and finished third at the Conference USA Championship. The team welcomes back Conference USA Freshman of the Year Luca Gallingani and second-team All-Conference selection Shaun Cook.
Following the Johnnie-O at Sea Island, KSU will co-host the Linger Longer Invitational with Mercer at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee from March 20-22.
