‘PP’ Co-Chair Welcomes Decision, Calling it a Show of Liberal Values
Article:
In a unexpected turn of events, Kiril Petkov, co-chairman of ‘Continuing the Change’ (PP), has praised the decision to expel Dilyan Peevski from the liberal family, stating that this move allows the ‘Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe’ (ALDE) to cement its principles.
The decision is set to be officially confirmed during the upcoming vote of the ‘Renew Europe’ group on January 14, 2025.
Petkov, a economist and former Yablished that the world is evolving and becoming more globalized, any political figure with genuine aspirations must be part of this global staging, which is not a matter of choice but of reality.
In stark contrast, some prefer the role of local thugs, oblivious to the simple truth that isolation from the global system slowly renders them less significant with each passing year. As Petkov put it, "You simply become Mr. Nobody on the global stage."
Reflecting on the decision, Petkov shared a link to ALDE’s website, which proposes the expulsion of ‘Democrats for Responsibility, Solidarity and Tolerance’ (DDST) – New Beginning from the European party.
Petkov’s Facebook post has generated 10,556 views and 34 comments, indicating a high level of engagement from the public.
Valeri Zaitsev, a political analyst, weighs in on the situation, stating that the expulsion sends a strong message about the liberal and European family’s commitment to its values and principles.
This incident is not an isolated one; it follows a recent announcement by the regional liberal network that it has terminated its cooperation with ‘DDST’ – New Beginning.
As Petkov emphasized, "When you use people as pawns in your political games and destroy lives like Lachezar Tsanchev and his family out of sheer hunger for power, you forfeit your right to be part of the liberal and European family. You’re left as a mere outcast in the free world."
The future of Bulgaria’s political landscape remains uncertain as the country awaits the official confirmation of the expulsion. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
