KPK Investigates Assets of Police Officer Linked to Bekasi Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is probing assets owned by Ipda Yayat Sudrajat, a police officer, which are suspected to be linked to corruption through his wife, Rista Mardiana. Rista was scheduled to be questioned as a witness at KPK headquarters on Monday but did not appear.
“The witness is the wife of YYS, suspected of being used to place assets, including a house, which was partially searched by investigators earlier,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Monday. The investigation focuses on whether additional assets are connected to the case involving Yayat, who is not part of the Bekasi Regency government structure or a project contractor.
Witnesses Include Officials and Business Figures
Investigators are questioning officials and businesspeople linked to Bekasi Regency projects. Witnesses include the head of the Education Office, the head of the Water Resources and Construction Office, and former acting regent Dani Ramdhan. Other individuals under scrutiny are entrepreneurs and political figures associated with the 2024 Bekasi regency election.
Budi explained the inquiry aims to determine the process of project allocation and whether Yayat had a connection to these projects. “How the mechanism works, allegations of favoring certain bidders, and Yayat’s involvement remain under investigation,” he said.
KPK Searches Luxury Homes in Multiple Cities
KPK has searched Yayat’s luxury homes in Cibubur and Depok, Jawa Barat. Budi stated investigators suspect he owns over a dozen assets spread across Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, and other regions. “The search for additional assets is ongoing,” he added.
Yayat has already been questioned as a witness. The KPK is using a general investigation order (Sprindik), which allows for the identification and prosecution of suspects during the investigation.
