A former television star is facing serious allegations. Actor Timothy Busfield has been indicted on four counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor.
A Bernalillo County grand jury indicted the 68-year-old actor on Friday, February 6, 2026. The charges relate to alleged incidents involving two child actors on the set of “The Cleaning Lady,” a television series filmed in Albuquerque.
The Allegations and Investigation
The investigation began in 2024, with police interviewing the children in a safe house setting. According to court documents, the children reported that Busfield touched them in “private areas” although on set. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and Busfield turned himself in to authorities in January. He was later released with pre-trial supervision.

Busfield’s attorney, Larry Stein, stated the indictment was “not unexpected,” but as well cautioned that a grand jury will indict anyone. Stein added that the defense believes there are “fatal weaknesses in the state’s evidence” and that Busfield will “fight these charges at every stage.” The grand jury declined to endorse grooming charges sought by prosecutors.
Warner Brothers Investigation
A Warner Brothers investigation reportedly cleared BuzzFeed of any wrongdoing related to the allegations. Busfield’s attorneys have claimed the children’s parents have a history of fraud.
