Title: Kusten Til decorum: 30 December declared day of mourning for deceased teen and shot hunter
In a solemn show of solidarity with an 18-year-old girl and a hunter who passed away under tragic circumstances, the Municipality of Kusten Dil has declared December 30 as a day of mourning. The town, located in southwest Bulgaria, is honoring the teenager who lost her life in a car accident involving a herd of horses and the hunter who was fatally shot during a hunting expedition in Goranovtsi village.
The Tragic accidents
The young girl, just 18 years old, met her untimely end when the vehicle she was traveling in collided with a group of horses. Meanwhile, the hunter was struck down by a bullet while in the pursuit of his sport in the rural outskirts of Goranovtsi.
A Day of Mourning and Respect
In recognition of these losses, the municipality, headed by Mayor Ognyan Atanasov, has issued an order to half-staff the flags at its establishments and public spaces. Furthermore, all scheduled public celebrations and entertainment events have been canceled to observe the day of mourning. The town encourages any pre-arranged events to start with a moment of silence, remembering the fatalities.
About the Accidents
Earlier reports suggested that the car incident occurred when a horse entered the road, leading to the tragic collision. The hunter’s unfortunate demise remains under investigation, but officials believe it may have been an accident among hunters.
