Norwegian Music Icon Lars Martin Myhre Passes Away After Long Battle With Illness
Lars Martin Myhre, the beloved Norwegian musician and producer, has passed away. Surrounded by his close family, Myhre succumbed to a long battle with illness, his family confirmed on Facebook. "We have long known that our clever, humorous, and kind father and husband would not live forever," they wrote. "Our world is now much emptier, but he will continue to live in our lives through all the good memories and through music."
Myhre’s son, Lars Dønvold-Myhre, confirmed the news to NRK, stating his father passed away peacefully at home with his entire family by his side.
Myhre achieved national recognition in 1995 when he collaborated with Odd Børretzen on their debut album "Noen Ganger Er Det All Right". The album spent an impressive 98 weeks on VG-lista and sold over 180,000 copies. In addition to his collaborative work, Myhre released several solo albums, with his latest, "Lønn", debuting last fall.
