The Holiday Nostalgia Train utilizes R1/9 cars, originally built for the Independent Subway System (IND). These historic cars, in service from the 1930s through the late 1970s, offer a unique glimpse into the past with their rattan seats, paddle ceiling fans, incandescent lighting, and classic roll signs.
