Lenovo and the Esports Foundation have expanded their hardware partnership, positioning the technology company as a global partner for the Esports World Cup 2026 in Paris, according to official announcements released by both organizations.
Bringing High-Performance Hardware to Paris
The upcoming tournament marks the first time the global esports event heads to Paris, following two previous competitions held in Riyadh. According to tournament organizers, the event runs from July 6 to August 23, bringing more than 2,000 players, 200 esports teams, and fans from over 100 countries to the French capital.
“We are looking forward to welcoming Lenovo as a global founding partner for the Esports World Cup 2026 as we are bringing thousands of players and millions of fans to Paris this summer,” said Mohammed Al-Nimer, chief commercial officer of the Esports Foundation, in a statement.
Did you know? The Esports World Cup 2026 will span seven weeks of intense competition, featuring thousands of individual matches across multiple game titles in Paris.
Powering Tournament Operations and Player Stations
Under the expanded agreement, Lenovo’s Legion brand will supply core hardware to power tournament operations, broadcasts, and player stages. According to Volker During, VP and GM of the gaming business in the intelligent devices group at Lenovo, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to providing top athletes with premier equipment.
Competing athletes will utilize Legion Tower 7i and Tower 5i desktop PCs alongside Legion monitors as they fight for top podium spots. Beyond the main competition stages, Legion branding will appear across global broadcasts and onsite festival zones, where visitors can test laptops, tablets, and peripherals.
Scaling Up From Previous Success
This year’s partnership builds directly on Lenovo’s debut at the Esports World Cup 2025 in Riyadh. During that event, more than 2,000 Legion devices supported tournament operations, creator zones, and broadcast studios across 24 game titles. According to company data, those international broadcasts reached 750 million people worldwide across multiple languages.
“Across seven weeks of competition, thousands of matches and countless player setups, Lenovo’s cutting-edge innovation will help power the experience for players, fans and broadcasts alike,” Al-Nimer said.
