Hasto Kristiyanto, the Secretary General of PDIP, has made headlines after being named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in the Harun Masiku case. Since then, Hasto has been the subject of criticism and defense.

Hasto’s Assertion

In his first public statement since being named a suspect, Hasto Kristiyanto claimed that his designation was a form of intimidation. Quoting from the 9th chapter of Sukarno’s book, "Penyambung Lidah Rakyat Indonesia," Hasto stated that entering detention was part of striving for a noble cause. "Therefore, never fear to speak the truth," Hasto asserted.
