Lunar New Year Celebrations Planned in Queensland
On Monday, February 16th, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, Play Matters Chinese Mandarin Playgroup will host a Lunar New Year celebration. The event will focus on the Year of the Horse, incorporating movement, music, and creative activities.
Activities will include drumming rhythms, lion dance movements, and crafting Zodiac animal rubbings. No booking is required for this free event, which is presented by Play Matters Australia and supported by the State Library of Queensland.
Lion Dance Performance
On Saturday, February 21st, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Red Dragon Martial Arts will present a lion dance performance. The performance aims to bring luck and prosperity for the year ahead.
Attendees will have the opportunity to view the lion puppets up close and experience their movement and texture. This event, like the playgroup, requires no booking and is free to attend.
