Breaking News: Prominent Makassar Lawyer Fatally Shot on New Year’s Eve in Bone
A prominent lawyer from Makassar, Rudi S. Gani, lost his life in a tragic incident on New Year’s Eve in the Bone Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel). The 49-year-old was fatally shot by an unknown assailant while staying at his wife’s house.
The gruesome incident occurred around 9:50 PM local time on Tuesday, December 31, in Lappariaja District, Bone Regency. Rudi was reportedly visiting his wife and had just arrived at the house.
According to Iptu Rayendra, the Head of the Bone Police Public Relations, Rudi’s wife was having dinner when she heard a single gunshot from outside the house. Upon Investigation, she found her husband lying on the floor, unconscious and bleeding from a wound on his face.
Rudi was immediately rushed to the Lappariaja Health Center (Puskesmas) by his distraught wife. However, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the Puskesmas.
The autopsy report revealed that Rudi died from a gunshot wound to the face, specifically beneath the right eye.
The Bone police have launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator, with Rayendra confirming that the case is still under investigation.
This cruel act of violence has sent shockwaves through the legal community in Makassar and Bone, leaving colleagues and friends to mourn the loss of a respected lawyer.
