Man Offering Unmarked Beef Detained in Esquina; Authorities Seize 22 Kilograms
In an early morning operation on Sunday, the Special Rural and Ecological Security Unit of Esquina, in coordination with the First Police Station, detained an individual identified as José Gabriel S. The man was found offering unmarked beef in the public area without a validated source.
The suspect was carrying a quarter of beef that weighed approximately 22 kilograms. Given his inability to explain its origin, he was reported to the on-duty prosecutor, Dr. Gustavo Mosquera, who ordered the man’s detention and the seizure of the meat product.
As part of the ongoing investigation, searches were conducted at properties linked to the case. José Gabriel S. remains in custody at the First Police Station jail while judicial proceedings continue.
Local authorities have emphasized their commitment to combating rural crimes and ensuring food safety in the region.
