Police have arrested a 24-year-vintage patched Black Power member following an alleged serious assault that took place over the weekend in Waikato.

The arrest comes after two people were injured in what police described as a “cowardly attack” on Saturday night in Mātangi. The pair had attempted to confront occupants of a vehicle performing burnouts, according to a report from 1News.

At approximately 8pm, the two individuals approached the occupants of a dark-coloured Ford Falcon on Marychurch Rd. Three people exited the vehicle and assaulted them. Both victims were taken to hospital and described as being in moderate condition.
