Marie Evensen assumed the role of managing director at Spot Engineering on June 1, according to company disclosures. Evensen holds a bachelor’s degree in gas and energy technology from the University of Sør-Øst Norge and spent her career working as a mechanical engineer. She spent the two years prior to her appointment serving on the board of directors at parent company SPOT AS. Jon-Henrik Enggravslia, managing director of Spot AS, stated that Evensen brings a broad and beneficial background that will support the ongoing development of both the engineering subsidiary and the broader corporate group.

Spot AS and Spot Engineering currently operate with approximately 120 full-time equivalents across both companies, with four employees under Evensen in Spot Engineering, all with owners resident in Skien.
The businesses operate out of a 5,000-square-meter facility located in Rødmyrlia, which they moved into roughly two years ago. Recent equipment investments include an advanced profillaser designed to streamline production. According to company leadership, having both engineering design and physical production under one roof shortens decision-making pathways, improves internal collaboration, and drives cost efficiency.
Regional Infrastructure Demands in Vestfold and Telemark
Spot Engineering and its parent company have delivered some of Norway’s largest renseanlegg projects, including Kongshaugen renseanlegg in Ålesund, Kongsberg renseanlegg, and the former Linnes renseanlegg. Current operations include ongoing work on treatment plants in Kongsberg and Ålesund.
While upcoming municipal treatment plant projects across Vestfold and Telemark have not yet been formally issued for public tender, Evensen aims to secure local contracts by showcasing regional industrial capacity. Enggravslia emphasized the group’s focus on local talent development, noting that the enterprise currently maintains 11 apprentices to build long-term regional delivery capabilities.
