Mattel has officially revealed a 935-piece, 1:22 scale buildable UNSC M12 Warthog from its Brick Shop line during San Diego Comic-Con. Priced at $75.99 or £69.99, the set converts into a Gauss Hog and arrives ahead of Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Mattel used San Diego Comic-Con to pull the cover off its latest gaming crossover, introducing a detailed scale model of one of gaming’s most recognizable armored trucks first experienced on the original Xbox.
Mattel Brick Shop Launches First Major Gaming Collaboration With UNSC Warthog
While Mattel’s Brick Shop line has focused heavily on real-life automotive icons alongside a dash of Masters of the Universe, Halo marks the brand’s first major gaming collaboration. The 1:22 scale buildable vehicle draws primary inspiration from Halo: Reach, standing out as a massive physical tribute compared to standard collectibles.
Builders working through the construction will piece together a model measuring significantly larger than traditional toys, accompanied by an exclusive die-cast bonus. Buyers get a 1:64 Hot Wheels die-cast model of the Warthog tucked inside alongside a metallic plaque, bridging traditional toy lines with advanced brick building.
Customization Features and Conversion to the M12G1 Gauss Hog
The build offers mechanical functions pulled straight from the video games. The finished model features a rotating rear turret, adjustable independent wheel suspension, and a working front winch equipped with a seven-inch cable. Builders also get an opening hood and pad-printed graphics matched to the digital vehicle.

Flexibility forms a core part of the design. The package includes custom elements and decals that let builders convert the standard M12 Warthog into the M12G1 Gauss Hog by swapping out the rear turret for the signature Gauss Cannon first introduced in Halo 2. Additional styling items include multiplayer-inspired emblems, battle-damage markings, and two interchangeable wheel cover sets.
Pricing, Pre-Order Dates, and In-Game Bonuses
The set is launching just in time for the release of Halo: Campaign Evolved. Collectors in North America can secure the build for $75.99, while UK buyers face a price tag of £69.99 through Amazon UK. Pre-orders open broadly following the San Diego Comic-Con debut, with shipments scheduled to reach buyers around late September and early October.
Physical buyers also secure digital rewards. Packages distributed in the United States include a special redemption code for the Ignition Armor Style for Master Chief inside Halo: Campaign Evolved.
