"Megawati to Support PDIP‘s Hasto amid KPK ‘Criminalization’
PDIP Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri is set to stand by PDIP Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto, ensuring he’s not left to face the "criminalization" allegation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) alone, according to the party’s spokesperson, Guntur Romli.
Speaking on Sapa Indonesia Pagi Kompas TV with the topic ‘Case Against Hasto: A Conflict between Jokowi and PDI-P?’, Guntur asserted, "Yes, of course [Megawati will intervene], she will not leave Hasto to face the KPK alone."
He further explained that Megawati’s support will be within the bounds of the law, emphasizing, "Ibu Megawati, as a citizen, will be a defender within the legal corridors of Indonesia. She will not deviate from supporting Hasto as PDIP’s chairwoman."
