Rainbow Warriors Finish 20th at Amer Ari Intercollegiate
KOHALA COAST, Hawai’i – The University of Hawai’i men’s golf team concluded its participation in the Amer Ari Intercollegiate on Saturday, finishing 20th overall at Mauna Lani Resort’s North Course. The Rainbow Warriors posted a final round of 291, bringing their three-day total to 874.
Auburn Dominates, Secures First Amer Ari Title
Fifth-ranked Auburn claimed the tournament title with an impressive 77-under 787 total, securing their first Amer Ari Intercollegiate championship. They finished with a final round score of 258. Texas finished second at 800, followed by Arizona State (806), Texas Tech (807), and Stanford (808).
Koivun Claims Individual Medalist Honors
Auburn’s Jackson Koivun was the top individual performer, winning medalist honors with a remarkable 25-under 191. His teammate, Cayden Pope, finished second at 196.
UH Standouts and Final Results
Nathan Szpakowicz and James Whitworth led the Rainbow Warriors, both tying for 90th place at 2-over 218. Szpakowicz shot a final round of 1-under 71, while Whitworth carded a 74. Dane Watanabe also posted a 74, finishing at 4-over 220 and tying for 97th place.
Alec Hilgers (76=224, t-108th) and Chris Salem (72=224, t-108th) also competed for UH. Cameron Combado (80=236, 120th) and Quinn Murray (78=240, 121st) participated as individuals.
