Mexico‘s Pension Systems Kickstart 2025 with First Payments
The dawn of 2025 brings the first disbursements for beneficiaries of Mexico’s major pension systems. Starting January 2nd, retirees of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), and beneficiaries of the Pensión Bienestar program will receive their respective deposits.
Pivotal Payment for ISSSTE Pensioners
This payment holds particular significance for ISSSTE pensioners, as it includes the second installment of their 2024 Christmas bonus. This financial support is an acquired right earned through years of service.
Checking Deposits: IMSS and ISSSTE
Retirees from both IMSS and ISSSTE can verify their deposits through their banks’ digital platforms, including websites and mobile applications. Alternatively, they can visit bank branches. For any deposit-related issues, it’s recommended to contact the institutions’ customer service lines directly for swift resolution.
Pensión Bienestar Beneficiaries to Receive January-February 2025 Bimonthly Payment
Adults enrolled in the Pensión Bienestar program will also receive their first payment of the year starting January 2nd, covering the January-February 2025 bimonthly period. It’s anticipated that this deposit will increase by approximately 200 pesos, aligning with projected inflation of between 3.5% to 3.8%, ensuring beneficiaries’ purchasing power is maintained.
Pensión Bienestar beneficiaries can check their balances via the Banco del Bienestar app, the customer service line at 800 900 2000, or visiting Banco del Bienestar branches and ATMs.
2025 Marks the Start of the ‘Salud Casa por Casa’ Program
The year 2025 brings the launch of the ‘Salud Casa por Casa’ program, designed to enhance the quality of life for Pensión Bienestar beneficiaries. This initiative offers free medical consultations, provision of essential medications, and personalized follow-up care by specialized medical teams.
The Role of the Banco del Bienestar Card
The Banco del Bienestar card is a conventional debit card issued by Mexico’s government-owned Banco del Bienestar. Users can withdraw cash at ATMs, make purchases at stores with POS terminals, and shop online using the card.
The main purpose of this card is to facilitate access to federal government social programs such as the Pensión para el Bienestar de las Personas Adultas Mayores and the Benito Juárez scholarships. Rather than receiving funds in cash, beneficiaries have their deposits made directly to this card, ensuring security, convenience, and control over their funds. Additionally, as a debit card, users can efficiently manage their money, check balances, make transfers, and avoid handling cash to minimize loss or theft risks.
As the new year begins, these pension system updates promise enhanced support and services for retirees and beneficiaries, aiming to improve their quality of life and overall well-being.
