Two firefighters were injured early Friday morning while responding to a house fire in Meyers, California, according to the Lake Valley Fire District.

Crews from Lake Valley Fire District, along with South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office and CHP – South Lake Tahoe, responded to the fire on Ulmeca St. Around 1:45 a.m. On Friday.
The home, which was undergoing renovation, sustained major damage. Both injured firefighters were transported to a hospital for evaluation.
One individual was inside the home when the fire broke out but was able to escape without injury. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
