The Michelin Guide added 15 restaurants to its New York directory this week, placing them under consideration for stars or Bib Gourmand ratings. According to the guide, the second crop of additions for the year includes nine Manhattan spots and three each in Brooklyn and Queens.
Manhattan Establishments Added to Michelin Directory
The latest list leans heavily toward Manhattan. New entries include Wild Cherry, an A24 collaboration with Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson in the Cherry Lane Theatre, and Marcel, a fine dining spot in the Sotheby’s headquarters opened by chef Marie-Aude Rose and design studio Roman and Williams. Michelin highlighted Marcel’s roast beef tartine as channeling a “Left Bank cafe.”
Other Manhattan additions include:
- Zubco: A 12-seat Japanese omakase in the General Motors building with a $475-per-person price tag.
- LenLen: A Thai restaurant from Wanisa Torboonsitikorn and chef Peter Ki Suk Tondreau, which Michelin noted for its “rich crab curry.”
- Kjun: Chef Jae Jung’s expanded Korean Cajun restaurant in Murray Hill.
- Sora: A tasting menu spot by chef Hasung Lee, a Culinary Class Wars contestant.
- The Dining Room: A West Village tasting menu by executive chef Sherry Cardoso, costing $165 for six courses or $205 for seven.
- Sora: A casual Japanese spin-off of the two-starred Odo.
- Ha’s Snack Bar (follow-up): A Vietnamese-French fusion spot from Sadie Mae Burns and Anthony Ha.
Brooklyn and Queens Recommendations
Brooklyn’s additions include Arthur, a neighborhood bistro from Kevin and Alexa Finch, and a restaurant relocated to Brooklyn Heights, where Michelin stated dishes are “seriously leveled up.” The list also includes a Roman-style pizzeria in Williamsburg featuring a disco ball and “spot-on” diavola pizza.
In Queens, the guide added The Pierogi Boys in Ridgewood. Two of the Queens entries are not new: Bolivian Llama Party, which evolved from a 2012 Smorgasburg stand to a 2020 restaurant, and an Egyptian seafood spot in Astoria that has operated since 2015. Michelin praised the Astoria spot’s “confidence of the cooking” and the salteñas at Bolivian Llama Party.
Comparison of 2025 New York Additions
This week’s 15 additions follow an earlier April announcement of nine restaurants, including Bong, Le Chêne, and Vato. While the first batch was smaller, the combined total of 24 new recommendations for the year shows a continued expansion of the directory’s footprint across the three boroughs.
Upcoming Michelin Ceremony Details
A Michelin representative stated there are “no details to share at this time” regarding the date or location of this year’s ceremony. Last year’s event took place in November in Philadelphia, combining announcements for New York, Chicago, and D.C., as well as first-time entries for Boston and the host city.
