Miks Galvanovskis and Aija Andrejeva Collaborate on New Release

Latvian singer Miks Galvanovskis has released his latest single, “Būt,” marking his first collaboration with vocalist Aija Andrejeva, according to artist statements released following the drop. The single arrives roughly a month after his previous track, “Tikai Vienreiz Dzīvot,” and forms part of an upcoming album rollout for the performer.

The Collaborative Origins of “Būt”

According to Miks Galvanovskis, the idea for a duet with Andrejeva originated at the previous year’s Song Festival. The artist stated that the song explores how a partner, friend, or stranger can alter a person’s perspective and encourage personal growth.

Songwriting credits for “Būt” are shared between Galvanovskis and guitarist Roberts Dinters, alongside contributions from Laima Miltiņa-Rode and Jānis Narbuts. The recording features Galvanovskis, Andrejeva, and Galvanovskis’s core backing band, which includes Kristens Kupčs, Mārcis Briška, Jānis Narbuts, Reinis Briģis, and Roberts Dinters. The accompanying music video was filmed by Elvis Lācis.

A Return to Rock Ballads

Aija Andrejeva expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting that she accepted the invitation immediately. According to Andrejeva, the collaboration represents a return to the rock genre and rock ballad format, which she considers close to her heart. She described the single as having the potential to serve as emotional support during difficult moments or as daily inspiration.

Upcoming Tour Dates and Album Release

The single release precedes a new music album by Miks Galvanovskis. Additionally, the artist is scheduled to launch his autumn patriotic concert tour titled “Balāde Par Letiņu” on October 9. The 14-stop tour will visit Ventspils, Ādaži, Alūksne, Tukums, Sigulda, Ogre, Talsi, Valmiera, Rēzekne, Liepāja, Riga, Cēsis, and Jelgava, according to tour schedules.
