Flemish Minister of the Environment Zuhal Demir wants – despite the negative report of the Council of State – to continue with the construction of a new football stadium on the Blankenbergse Steenweg in Bruges.
She decided that after consultation with the city of Bruges and Club en Cercle. The initial plan will be adjusted to meet the criticism of the Council of State. Minister Demir has given the green light for an amended plan, but that plan must be adopted by the full Council of Ministers within a month.
A new stadium for Cercle should be built on the Blankenbergse Steenweg. That is crucial in Club’s stadium file, because they cannot start building on the current Jan Breydel site before there is a solution for the Association.
