Mosques in Afghanistan Attacked, 47 Killed, Mastermind Exposed!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia The terrorist group Daesh or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) claimed to be the mastermind behind the mosque attack in Afghanistan on Friday night (10/15/2021).

The attack took place at a Shia mosque in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, killing 47 people and injuring dozens of others while worshipers were performing Friday prayers at the mosque.

“The Daesh/ISIS terror group claimed responsibility Friday night for the deadly mosque attack in Afghanistan,” said Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s official news agency, quoted on Sunday (17/10/2021).

The attack on the Fatimiya mosque was carried out by two suicide bombers, according to a statement circulated by the terror group on social media.

It comes one week after a bombing, claimed by a local Daesh affiliate, killed 46 people at a Shia mosque in Kunduz province, northern Afghanistan.

In a statement quoted by AFP on Saturday (10/16/2021), the ISIS-Khorasan group said the suicide bombers carried out separate attacks on the Kandahar mosque, which is the center of the Taliban’s spiritual activities.

For the record, this act of terrorism is not the only time this has happened at the Fatimiya mosque. Previously, on Friday, October 8, 2021, a terrorist group also attacked a Shia mosque in the Kunduz region, Afghanistan during Friday prayers.

As a result of the incident, dozens of people were reported killed as a result of the suicide bombing.
