"’I’m normally a light sleeper,’" said Jan, a resident who wishes to remain anonymous, "’but last night I was awoken by a loud boom. I looked out my window and saw flames engulfing my car. I was terrified. I’m still in shock.’"

The Arnhem Police force was quick to respond to the incidents but was inundated with calls, making it challenging to swiftly deploy units to every location.
