The snowstorm battering Bulgaria has left several towns in Lovech Province without electricity, with emergency crews working tirelessly to restore power and clear roads. According to local officials and the electricity distribution company, multiple power lines have been damaged due to heavy snowfall and strong winds.

The main Sofia-Varna highway has been affected, with power cuts reported in the towns of Stefanovo, Bulgareni, Malino, and Drabava. Repair teams are on the scene, along with police officers, to address the issue. Similar power outages have been reported in Troyan, and towns under the municipalities of Belish, Borima, Vrabevo, Golyama Zhelyazna, and others.

Power disruptions have also been reported in the towns of Tevoteven and Ugrichin, as well as in the municipalities of Lomin, Sopot, and Golec.

The snowstorm has caused significant disruptions to transportation. The road between Kazachevo and Gorno Pavlikeni has been closed due to falling rocks, though other roads remain passable with caution, according to Lovech Municipality Mayor Strachimir Petkov. The director of the regional road management, engineer Georgi Genov, reported that the Shrophoko-Ribaritsa and Troyan passes are closed due to heavy snowfall and drifting snow.

Local hydrometeorological stations report that Aprovets and Shrophoko have received the most snow, with accumulations reaching over 20 cm by morning. The mayor of Aprovets, Tihomir Kochenhski, confirmed that the town has been without power for several hours due to snapped power lines caused by the heavy snow.
