Las autoridades, que#include forces from the Chihuahua State Secretariat of Public Security (SSPE), State Police, Municipal Police, Customs and Migration, triggered an extensive search operation to find the perpetrators, using drones and aircraft.
After several hours of searching, authorities captured Carlos "N", a Colombian national, along with two other individuals, both Venezuelan nationals. They were allegedly found hiding on a hill near the crime scene. The arrested individuals are now in the hands of the authorities for further investigation.
One of the arresting details that has caught the attention of investigators is a distinctive tattoo of an owl on the arm of one of the Venezuelan suspects. According to journalist Luis Chaparro, citing sources from the United States, this tattoo is characteristic of members of the Train of Aragua, a criminal group dedicated to human trafficking, drug trafficking, and sexual exploitation.
The Train of Aragua, which originated in the Venezuelan prison of Tocorón, has extended its influence to several countries, including Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Mexico. In the latter country, their presence has been detected in the states of Chihuahua, Querétaro, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, and the State of Mexico, where they operate in at least 10 colonies in the Cuauhtémoc and Benito Juárez boroughs of Mexico City.
In Mexico, the organization has managed to infiltrate sectors such as informal commerce, while exploiting migrants and women through networks of trafficking and prostitution. Authorities believe that the group does not seek direct confrontation with the large Mexican cartels but rather establishes strategic alliances for drug, weapon, and people trafficking. They also maintain control over communities through extreme violence methods.
Although Mexican authorities have not officially confirmed the direct involvement of the Train of Aragua in the murder of Luis Alberto Olivas, the links between the detained individuals and the practices of the Venezuelan organization are under close scrutiny.
As investigations continue, authorities are considering whether the attack was part of a coordinated human trafficking operation or an isolation incident after being discovered without documents. The INM has condemned the extreme attack on its agent and reinforced its commitment to supporting investigations to clarify the facts. The State Secretariat of Public Security, in coordination with federal authorities, has intensified surveillance in the region to prevent further violent incidents.
