Anlaug Oseid, operations leader at the Trøndelag Police District, confirmed that the man’s family had been in contact with him via a snap from his ski trip. However, they have not heard from him since. Authorities cannot confirm the exact clothing he was wearing, but he may have been in ski gear.
A rescue helicopter from Ørland, codenamed SAR Queen, has joined the search efforts, assisting the police in the operation. According to police, the man is known to ski occasionally from Havstad through lysløyper to Fjellsetermyra and Storsvingen.
