NAD C 3030 & C 3030S: Retro Amplifiers with Modern Features | Review

by Chief Editor

NAD has launched the C 3030 and C 3030S amplifiers, expanding its Classic series with affordable and compact options. Following the success of the C 3050 anniversary model, these new amplifiers draw inspiration from the legendary NAD 3030 of the late 1970s, featuring a classic black front panel and analog VU meters, but packed with modern technology.

“Vinyl and CDs are making a comeback, not as replacements for streaming, but as ways to reconnect with music more mindfully. With the C 3030, our goal was to make that experience accessible to more listeners,” says Morten Nielsen, NAD’s Product Manager.

Blending Retro Aesthetics with Modern Connectivity

While the C 3030 and C 3030S lack the luxurious wood cabinet finish of the C 3050, they are slimmer (only 356mm wide), making them ideal for bookshelves or smaller living spaces. Both amplifiers deliver 50 watts per channel, prioritizing stable power, control, and musical precision, even with demanding speakers.

Even the more affordable C 3030 is well-equipped for modern use. HDMI eARC simplifies connection to your TV for significantly improved sound for movies, shows, and gaming. It also supports Bluetooth with aptX HD for wireless music playback.

A subwoofer output allows for 2.1 configurations. When activated, an 80Hz high-pass filter can offload the bass frequencies from the main speakers. This makes the C 3030 an interesting option for those seeking true stereo sound with deep bass without needing a surround receiver.

For those seeking an all-in-one solution, the NAD C 3030S is the more compelling option. It includes everything the C 3030 offers, plus BluOS, NAD’s integrated streaming and multi-room platform. This provides access to high-resolution streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz, support for over 20 streaming services, multi-room capabilities, and playback of stored music.

Pricing and Availability

NAD C 3030 will be available in February 2026 at a recommended price of 10,998 SEK. Its bigger brother, NAD C 3030S, will launch in spring 2026 with a recommended price of 14,498 SEK.
