Bulgarian Document Fees Increase: What You Need to Know
Starting today, Bulgarian citizens and residents will see significant changes in the fees for various personal documents. The new prices, approved by the Council of Ministers, aim to reflect the actual costs of issuing and managing these documents.

- ID cards: BGN 14 (previously BGN 6)
- Passports: BGN 20 (previously BGN 10)

- Birth certificates: BGN 10 (previously BGN 5)
- Marriage certificates: BGN 15 (previously BGN 7.5)
- Death certificates: BGN 10 (previously BGN 5)
- Other Documents:
- Vehicle registration certificates: BGN 30 (previously BGN 15)
- Driving licenses: BGN 20 (previously BGN 10)
The price increase, which is approximately 67% on average, is due to the higher costs associated with producing and managing these documents, according to the Ministry of Interior. The new fees will apply to both first-time issuance and renewals.
