Wind Warnings Issued for Odessa and Odessa Region
Odessa residents are advised to brace for strong winds as the city and region face increased danger due to severe weather. According to the Hydrometeorological Center of the Black and Azov Seas, gusty winds are expected throughout the day on December 25.
"Odessa City. On December 25, winds from the northeast are expected to gust up to 15-20 m/s over the next 24 hours," warning authorities said. These strong winds are expected to impact the entire Odessa region, prompting officials to raise the danger level to yellow (level I) due to the windstorm.
The upcoming days are expected to bring cloudy skies and moderate rain across the region. Visibility on roads may be reduced to 1-2 km due to the rain. The wind will blow at 9-14 m/s, with gusts reaching up to 20 m/s. Night and day temperatures are predicted to range between +1°C and +6°C. In Odessa city, the weather will be cloudy with moderate rain, and the temperature will stay between +4°C and +6°C.
Residents are advised to secure loose items and drive cautiously as a precaution for the expected weather conditions. This windy weather is due to approaching frontal systems, influenced by a low-pressure system over the southern Balkans.
In the days ahead, including Christmas, the Odessa region and coastal areas are expected to experience a mix of clouds, moderate rain, and strong gusts from the northeast. Temperatures will gradually decrease by the end of the week, with sea temperatures around 6-7°C. Significant sea wave action is also expected.
