The production is a joint venture by Mam Tor Productions, a Banijay UK company, and B-Side Productions, slated for broadcast on BBC One and streaming via BBC iPlayer.
Starring Cast and Production Details
Toheeb Jimoh and Dujonna Gift star in the lead roles of Marcus and Effie. According to the BBC, Jimoh’s credits include the drama Anthony, an Emmy nomination for Ted Lasso, and a role in the fourth series of Industry. Gift makes her lead television debut as Effie following appearances in Disney’s live-action Snow White, the West End production of Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York), and the second series of the BBC’s Ludwig.
The narrative follows Marcus, who works in retail while trying to pursue a career in photography, and Effie, who studies dance at university in Dublin. Upon meeting, the two share an immediate connection, but Marcus discovers Effie is in a relationship with his friend Samuel. A shared project documenting Black creatives in London brings them together, testing the boundaries of their friendship against mounting desire.
