Title: Royal Holiday: Dutch Royal Family Enjoys Nochebuena at Queen Máxima’s Argentine Estate
The Dutch royal family is currently enjoying some well-deserved time off in Argentina, where they celebrate Nochebuena at the luxurious Estancia Pilpilcura, owned by Queen Máxima Zorreguieta and her siblings, Juan and Inés.
Máxima, who recently had her biopic portrayed by Delfina Chaves in an HBO series, began her Argentine vacation solo in Buenos Aires before reuniting with her family in Ezeiza. From there, they flew privately to Santa Cruz province.
After a brief stop in El Calafate, the royal family, including King Guillermo and their daughters Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane, traveled to Bariloche. They stayed at the Macdonald Portal Hotel in the city before heading to the isolated, yet cozy, Estancia Pilpilcura, nestled along the Pichileufú River in the Fissilechao Bay.
ABlend of Luxury and Austerity
The hotel, managed by Máxima’s aunt Marcela Cerruti since 2009, seamlessly combines luxury with simplicity. The 1,000-square-meter building boasts five minimally-equipped rooms, focusing on nature appreciation rather than extravagance. Despite its austerity, the estate spans 3,000 hectares of breathtaking Patagonian landscapes, featuring rock mountains, crystal-clear streams, and distant snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera.
culpine dining with Patagonian delicacies is available at the hotel’s restaurant. The royal family is expected to stay there until mid-January of the following year, with plans to celebrate New Year’s Eve with Carmen Cerrutti, Máxima’s mother.
Rental conditions are unique – the entire estate is rented out to groups for a minimum stay of one week. Interested parties must complete a detailed form, and the hotel will provide a personalized quote via email.
