Patrick Clancy Breaks Silence on 60 Minutes After Mistrial

Patrick Clancy is speaking publicly for the first time since testifying in July during the murder trial of his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The joint interview on 60 Minutes features Clancy alongside his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis. According to CBS News, Clancy talks about his grief, his memories of his children, and the baseless conspiracy theories that [have] flooded social media. The broadcast addresses both his personal grief and the wave of online hostility directed at him, which included unfounded claims he was connected to the death of his children.

The appearance follows a mistrial declared by a judge on September 4, 2026. The mistrial came after a jury deadlocked in the Plymouth County case where Lindsay Clancy faced charges of killing the couple’s three young children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—in the family home before attempting to take her own life in 2023. During the trial, neither side disputed that Clancy strangled her children in the family’s home before trying to end her own life, but her attorney said she was a loving mother experiencing deep delusions and other mental health problems, for which she had been getting treatment.

According to reporting by Kimberlee Kruesi, 11 of 12 jurors were ready to clear Clancy of criminal responsibility, with the majority feeling that the Massachusetts mom was in the grip of a rare condition called postpartum psychosis when she strangled her kids in 2023. But a lone juror sided with the prosecutors, who had argued that Clancy knew what she was doing. The deadlock forced a judge to declare a mistrial on Sept. 4.

Court transcripts from Patrick Clancy’s cross-examination document the examination of the family’s background, including that Lindsay Clancy started at the MGH Institute—which is like Mass General Hospital nursing program—around 2014, approximately six months after graduating from nursing school. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Mass General. As of the mistrial’s conclusion, the Plymouth County district attorney has yet to say whether he’ll seek to put Clancy on trial again.

Some of these online claims falsely alleged his involvement in the deaths of his children. In a clip posted on social media ahead of the scheduled interview, Patrick Clancy is asked if he’s angry with himself or felt like he failed in some way.
