Following severe weather in the greater Boston area, Pokémon GO City Safari: Boston has been rescheduled as a global event exclusively for current ticket holders on October 24 and October 25, 2026. The rescheduled gameplay will take place during the originally scheduled event hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in players’ local time zones.
Global Event Rescheduled with Modified Research Rewards
The wild encounters and event bonuses originally planned for the City Safari Boston event will occur globally on the October dates. The Special Research that was originally set to grant rewards related to an Eevee wearing an explorer hat will instead be provided as Timed Research.
This Timed Research grants encounters with Flabébé (Orange Flower), Hawlucha, Mudbray, and Komala, along with branching weekend bonuses. In addition, ticket holders will receive supplementary Special Research featuring tasks to spin PokéStops in Boston. This task awards up to nine encounters with Eevee wearing an explorer hat that include a Boston Location Background, providing qualifying Trainers with one Special Research opportunity per ticketed day. Players have from October 24, 2026, through October 23, 2028, to log in and obtain the research anywhere in the world. Organizers noted that there will be no Boston GO Stamp Rally.
Ticket Holders Face Strict Refund and Participation Rules
Only current ticket holders can experience any components of the rescheduled event, and ticket sales are closed with no additional tickets to be released. No action is required for players who want to keep their tickets and participate on October 24 and 25, 2026.
Trainers who prefer a refund can request one by contacting in-app support before October 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Requests must be initiated by the original purchaser. Partial refunds are not permitted; if multiple tickets or add-ons were purchased in an order, all associated items will be refunded together. Players who request a refund forfeit their ability to participate in the rescheduled event, and tickets cannot be repurchased once processed.
Pokémon GO City Safari: Boston updates and deadlines remain strictly governed by these in-app support windows and October event dates.
