The Road to Legends Raid Schedule and Bonuses
The lead-up to the anniversary festivities begins with the Road of Legends event, running from Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, 2026. This window serves as a massive collection phase, bringing back a vast array of legendary and mythical Pokémon to five-star raids.
According to Polygon, the event includes specific bonuses that persist through the end of GO Fest on July 12. These include no limits on remote raid passes and increased effectiveness for Premier Balls after raids. Additionally, Party Power charges faster in raids, and players can spin gym discs to receive up to two free raid passes daily until July 10.
The raid lineup is dense, featuring a rotation of powerhouses. On July 6, the list includes Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and the Regi-trio. The schedule also incorporates regional exclusives: Uxie in Asia-Pacific, Mesprit in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India, and Azelf in the Americas and Greenland.
For those seeking specific move sets, the event provides a rare utility. Trainers can use an Elite TM to teach Origin Forme Palkia Spacial Rend and Origin Forme Dialga Roar of Time.
Mega Mewtwo Debuts and the Zeraora Encounter
The core of the 10th-anniversary celebration centers on the arrival of Mega Mewtwo. As reported by Techgenyz, these endgame powerhouses will appear in Super Mega Raid Battles. Mega Mewtwo X is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, while Mega Mewtwo Y will appear on Sunday, July 12.
Niantic has implemented a specific quality-of-life update for these encounters. Any Mewtwo caught from these Super Mega Raids will have at least one Mega Level already unlocked. This allows trainers to Mega Evolve the Pokémon without paying the initial energy cost.
Beyond the Mega Evolutions, the mythical Pokémon Zeraora makes its first global appearance. Access to Zeraora is tied to the completion of the event’s mainline Special Research story, which is available to all players regardless of their ticket status.
Free Access vs. Road of Legends Deluxe Pass
In a departure from previous years, the foundational experience of GO Fest 2026: Global is entirely free. According to Pokémon GO, the event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time on both Saturday and Sunday. All players have access to the Zeraora Special Research and the rotating type-themed habitats.

Adding a collectible layer to the event are costumed Pokémon. Trainers can find Pikachu wearing Team Instinct, Team Mystic, and Team Valor hats. Additionally, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle will appear wearing Pikachu visors.
The celebration extends beyond the weekend. A Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration will run from Monday, July 13, at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, focusing on various costumed Pikachu in the wild and through Field Research tasks.
The Lucky Trinket and Pass Progression
One of the most sought-after rewards in the current event cycle is the Lucky Trinket. According to Polygon, reaching Rank 100 on the free version of the Go Pass grants this item, which allows a trainer to perform a guaranteed lucky trade with a friend of their choice.
Progressing through these ranks requires earning pass points. Trainers can earn up to 1,000 points (10 ranks) per day through hatching eggs, winning raids, and catching Pokémon. Winning a raid provides an additional 250 points per day. Because of the high volume of raids during the “Road to Legends” and GO Fest weekend, players are likely to max out their pass progression quickly.
The event concludes with a series of Global Challenges. Ticket-holding trainers can collaborate to complete hourly goals within three-hour blocks. Success in these challenges unlocks special bonuses for the remainder of the block and can activate upgraded versions of future events via “Ultra Unlocks.”
