“Police Believes They Know the Youths Responsible for Destroying Lookout Towers”.

Police Identify Suspects in Arson of New Observation Tower in Riethoven

Local police have received numerous tips leading them to believe they have identified the four suspects responsible for the arson of a newly opened observation tower in Riethoven last November. The tower, a prominent landmark in the Einderheide forest area, was severely damaged in the incident.

Security camera footage, released by police over the weekend, showed four young individuals descending the tower’s staircase on November 7, carrying fireworks. The clear images of the suspects sparked an outpouring of responses from the public, with many recognizing the individuals.

"We have received several tips that we are now following up on, and we have a clear view of the suspects," the police stated on their Instagram account.

While no arrests have been made yet, a police spokesperson confirmed that the footage has been removed from public platforms due to the naming of potential suspects. The spokesperson also noted that the tower, which stands at 26 meters tall, was officially opened to the public just last June.

The investigation is ongoing, and police urge anyone with further information to come forward.
