The incident unfolded at 2:45 a.m. on Sunday when patrols in Lilleström spotted a vehicle traveling at an exceptionally high speed through the downtown area. According to operational manager Rune Isaksen of the Eastern Police District, the driver attempted to evade a routine traffic stop before pulling over shortly afterward.

During the brief interception, the vehicle nearly struck a police employee who was on duty at the scene. The close call prompted immediate reinforcement and the apprehension of the driver. Authorities confirmed that the suspect not only tried to dodge the checkpoint but also failed to possess a valid driver’s license.
