Politicians Acknowledge: No Cabinet Now Means Harsh Punishment in Next Elections

Title: Bulgaria‘s Political Bloc Talks Intensify; Experts Weigh In on Premier Prospects and Coalition Fragility

Bulgarian political bloc negotiations for government formation continue, with GERB, "Democratic Bulgaria", BSP, and "There Is Such a People" engaged in talks in the parliament. While official details remain scant, political analysts Stoicho Stoychev and Kolio Kolev discussed the implications in NOVA NEWS’ "Offensive with Lyubomir Ognyanov" show.

Kolev, a sociologist, believes all parties understand the severity of facing electorate wrath if they fail to agree. On the prospects of a premier, he notes, "strategically, Boyko Borisov is the most suitable and experienced, but psychologically, others may seek an alternative ‘scapegoat’. As for Borislav Slavi Binev [Saraffov], there’s been a delay, but no fundamental change."

Kolev predicts a compromise for government formation, with GERB’s Borisov making concessions to other formations. "Borisov is the best choice for premier, purely on pragmatic grounds," he said, foreseeing a split within the PP-DB coalition due to internal differences.

Stoicho Stoychev, a political scientist, argues that talks have begun despite seemingly insurmountable differences. "These negotiations show they’ve overcome major differences. Institutions are now driving the process every day," he stated.

both experts weighed in on the Constitutional Court’s (CC) decision to recount votes. Stoychev posits that "Greatness" is unlikely to join the 51st National Assembly. "Too many recounts yield varying results. Such a significant revision could авторитететedly strain parliament and the CC," he opined, seeming to differ from Kolev’s stance.

As Bulgaria’s political landscape shifts, these expert insights offer critical perspectives on the negotiations shaping the country’s next government. With more discussions expected, the nation awaits concrete developments that could alter the political horizon.
