UNITE IN SOLIDARITY: MAGDEBURG STADTRATS UNITE TO CONDEMN XENOPHOBIC ATTACKS, CALL FOR UNITY

The compassion and resilience of the city of Magdeburg have been put to the test following a recent string of xenophobic attacks. In a show of solidarity, four out of seven Magdeburger Stadtratsfraktionen came together to issue a joint statement, expressing their deep sorrow and unwavering resolve. The declaration was a resounding condemnation of the hate-filled actions that have targeted individuals of migrant backgrounds.

In the wake of the despicable incidents, the city’s political factions have united their voices to speak out against these abhorrent acts. The joint statement was clear and concise: "Such attacks are deplorable and antithetical to everything that our city stands for. We condemn them in the strongest possible terms."

The Stadtratsfraktionen of CDU, SPD, Gruen, and Linke also called upon the people of Magdeburg to rally around each other in these trying times. They urged the city’s inhabitants to "be mindful and considerate of one another." The underlining message was clear – unity and mutual support were vital to prevent fear and hate from dividing the city.

The collective voice of the Stadtratsfraktionen echoed a sentiment shared by many: "Magdeburg must not be a city dominated by fear and hatred. Instead, let us come together, show respect, and support one another. If you see someone being threatened or attacked, please intervene. Together, we can overcome this challenging period and emerge stronger, united in our shared humanity."
