Ukrainian energy provider, "Ukrenergo", has issued a warning regarding the nation’s energy situation and planned power outages on Friday, December 30th.

The company revealed that measures to limit electricity consumption will be implemented for both residential and commercial consumers. This includes the following schedules:

  • Residential Consumers: Power outages will occur between 08:00 and 17:00, with a single queue of outages.

  • Commercial and Industrial Consumers: Power limitation schedules will apply between 08:00 and 19:00.

"Ukrenergo" attributed this temporary reinforcement of restrictions to damage sustained by energy infrastructure during a massive rocket and drone strike on December 25th. They are working diligently to repair the impaired equipment and restore functionality as swiftly as possible.

The company also noted that the duration and scale of these restrictions may change throughout the day.

In anticipation of power restoration, "Ukrenergo" urged Ukrainian residents to consume energy prudently to alleviate pressure on the grid.

Background:

On December 16th, Ukraine updated the principles for implementing electricity shortage schedules for residents. "Ukrenergo" explained that these adjustments aim to distribute energy restrictions evenly across the country’s regions. Moving forward, each power shortage queue will be further divided into two sub-queues, allowing for a more balanced workload.

Stay informed with the latest updates, and remember that every effort to conserve energy is crucial during these challenging times.
